“Siti’s Diary & Beyond”
was successfully held at Galeri Art Point (No:
46 & 48, Jalan Chow Thye, 10050 Penang) on 15th December to 29th
December. This was the first solo exhibition by Siti
Mariah Jackson, a Malaysian female artist who now resides in Champaign, USA. Y.

Tuan Syed Amerrudin, the
Penang State Executive Councilor for Tourism, Housing Development
and heritage
officiated
the opening
on 15th December
2006 at: 5.30pm. The exhibits were a number of 47 Selected
paintings and ceramics sculptures created by Siti Maria.
About Siti Mariah Jaskson
A former graduate
of the Mara Institute of Technology in Kuala Lumpur, Siti Mariah Jackson was
an art teacher in Penang during the early 1980s. She was part of the Malaysian
Art Examination Panel. Recipient of the Federal Teaching Scholarship to pursue
her Master of Fine Arts at the University of Illinois, she graduated in 1988.
She married artists Billy Morrow Jackson, both were commissioned to create an
art book entitled: On the
Island:
An Artistic view of Mahta’s Vineyard
published by Spotlight Press in 2005. Siit Mariah has participated in public
commissions as well as local, national and international art shows.

book signing session was held after the opening ceremony.
